POSTED: 11:45 pm CST November 8, 2008

(Sports Network) - Casey Keenum threw for 384 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Houston Cougars to a lopsided, 42-14 victory over the Tulane Green Wave in Conference-USA play at Robertson Stadium.

Four different players caught a touchdown pass for Houston (5-4, 4-1 C-USA), including Mark Hafner, who finished with 11 receptions and 91 yards. Bryce Beall paced the ground game with 176 rushing yards and two touchdowns on an impressive 8.4 ypc.

Nathan Austin rushed for just 39 yards for Tulane (2-7, 1-4), but the tailback scored the only two touchdowns in the setback. Kevin Moore struggled for the Green Wave, completing just 12-of-27 passes for only 142 yards.

A 15-yard touchdown run by Beall gave the Cougars a 7-0 edge midway through the first quarter.

Tulane evened the score at 7-7 when Austin rumbled into the end zone from 11 yards out early in the second stanza.

The Cougars responded with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Keenum to Beall, and then followed with a two-yard touchdown run by Beall, giving Houston a 21-7 advantage.

Houston continued to pull away in the third frame when Keenum connected with Chaz Rodriguez for a 38-yard touchdown pass.

Keenum's strong showing continued with a four-yard scoring strike to Hafner, pushing the Cougars lead to 35-7.

Houston's powerful offense did not quit, as Keenum hit Tim Moore with a 49- yard touchdown with just 17 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Austin plunged into the end zone on a one-yard run midway through to the final frame, but it was far too late for the Green Wave, who eventually fell by a 28-point margin.
