HURRICANE IKE: Latest track takes category 3 hurricane Ike just south of the lower florida peninsula, allowing the storm to move into the Gulf of Mexico. Ike currently has 120 mph sustained winds and is forecast to continue to weaken throughout today. Further long term strengthening is forecast, however, and Ike could move into the gulf as an extremely dangerous storm. Gulf coast residents should continue to monitor this storm...
Friday: Mostly cloudy skies with a bit more sun and high temperatures in the upper 80s. A few showers or storms mainly in the afternoon.
The Weekend: Partly cloudy with enough sun to get daily highs to around 90 after morning lows in the 70s. Very low chance of showers and storms.
