Briere Returns To Lineup For Flyers, But Leaves Against Bolts

POSTED: 11:18 pm CST December 2, 2008

(Sports Network) - Philadelphia Flyers forward Daniel Briere returned to the lineup for Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Briere missed the last nine and 14 of the previous 16 games while recovering from a groin injury. He did not register a point and left the game in the third period with an undisclosed injury and did not return.

The 31-year-old has scored five times with nine points in only eight games this season, his second with the Flyers.

To make room on the roster, the Flyers assigned forward Josh Gratton to the Phantoms of the AHL. The 26-year-old, who had cleared waivers, did not record a point but racked up 31 penalty minutes in 11 games this year for Philadelphia.
