DIGITAL MEDIA ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
This position is responsible for selling muti-platform (Internet, Weather, Multicast, Wireless) products to traditional advertising agencies as well as new business with local clients. The ideal candidate will understand the local ad sales marketplace and consumer trends and marketing. We need someone who has strong interpersonal skills and is able to interpret and present qualitative information to individuals and groups. Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel with two years media sales experience. College degree preferred. ANCHOR/REPORTER
We are seeking an experienced news anchor to join our talented staff and help lead the most aggressive news coverage in a truly dynamic market. Our anchors are dedicated journalists who can tell a good story and thrive on challenging situations. NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER
We are seeking an experienced News Photographer to shoot video for daily newscasts and special projects, and to operate the live microwave (ENG and/or SNG) trucks. Our photographers are an essential part of the newsgathering process who work both with reporters and independently to gather both video and information. Applicants must be skilled in both straight cuts and non-linear editing, and will be called on to make use of their skills for special projects and long-form programming. MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN/SNG-ENG TRUCK OPERATOR
We are seeking an experienced broadcast maintenance/microwave satellite truck operator. Apply if you are a strong self-starter, team player and goal oriented individual. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to installation and maintenance of audio, video, computer and RF systems, as well as procuring parts and completing necessary documentation associated with these projects and assignments. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for set-up, operation and maintenance of the WDSU satellite truck equipment for live broadcast of news or special events. An understanding of procedures used to uplink to the various satellites and the ability to follow procedures as determined by spacecraft owners is imperative. Must also currently have or be able to obtain a valid CDL and be capable of driving and operating vehicles safely and responsibly. The successful candidate will also be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer. ENG EDITOR (PART-TIME)
We are seeking a video editor for daily newscasts. Accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines are critical. Primary duties include coordinating feeds from several sources and archiving the day’s local news programming. The successful candidate must be skilled in both straight cuts and non-linear editing, and will be called upon to make use of their skills for special projects and long-form programming. CREATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR
The successful candidate will manage the overall brand and positioning of WDSU-TV and its related digital platforms including wdsu.com, WDSU Mobile and WDSU WeatherPlus. We are in need of an individual who can create and execute a strategic marketing plan in conjunction with news as well as manage the daily production of news topicals, sweep series, daily teases, POP's, Ids, special project promotion and PSAs. A strong understanding of and ability to interpret broadcast ratings and station research is needed. We are seeking a manager who can strategically and efficiently traffic all creative through the use of Wide Orbit – Pro and evaluate and measure the value of outside media placement. The ideal candidate will manage promotion of all syndicated, network and local programming, supervise overall art direction and graphic treatment on WDSU and its related digital platforms, and oversee all community relations efforts. We are in search of a strong leader who understands how to geo – target specific audience groups within the New Orleans DMA. Technical understanding and working knowledge of advance non-linear (AVID) editing technology, Photoshop, After Effects, and Maya is required. The successful candidate must have a successful track record in developing large scale image campaigns including directing, field production and editing techniques. A college degree and 5 years of management experience is required.
